乔恩·雅各布森

乔恩·雅各布森博士, is the Kenneth and Diana Jonsson Professor of 数学 and chair of the math department at Harvey Mudd College. His research interests include mathematical ecology, 动力系统, and Polanyi’s theory of personal knowledge. His teaching interests include any course with a derivative (e.g., multivariable calculus, differential equations, 复杂的分析, 动力系统, mathematical biology, pde).

Jacobsen received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in 数学 from California Polytechnic State University (SLO) and his Ph.D. from the University of Utah where he studied bifurcation theory for Monge-Ampere and k-Hessian equations.

At HMC he served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2010 to 2015 and Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of 学生 from 2015 to 2018. In 2018 he was awarded the 亨利T. 马德奖 in recognition of his service to the College.
